Today we had been to two villages of the nearby district of Thoothukudi.

We distributed in two local churches asking the people to come over there.
Almost in one church we gave to 19 widows and one person had not come, so that church pastor will give it tomorrow. We also provided morning breakfast to these 20 widows.
In the next church we gave it to 15 poor people.
These people who received it were so thankful. To all the sponsors of GNF ministries.

This time we provided for these 35 people groceries and 10kg of rice each but because they are all single we provided one month groceries for one person a head.

Please continue to pray for us and India especially this week number of cases of covid19 in Palayamkottai is increasing. Only our Lord should protect each one of us.

Today around 6:30am we started from our house and reached a village called Madachathampaadu and gave 3 package of grocery and from there went to the following nearby villages as follows:

Kuttam- 8 packages
Sowkiyapuram – 5 packages
Kodavilai – 7 packages
Pandarapuram- 7 packages
Maruthanachivilai – 10 packages
Thisayanvilai – 20 packages
Mannarpuram – 3 packages
Urumankulam – 20 packages

So totally today we distributed 83 packages. Few more parcel was not given as the family didn’t turn up. Tomorrow that pastor will give it to them.
We reached back home by 3pm and God was so good in leading us through the travel and to give to the right family.

Today we had been to Kallidaikurichi, to two villages which are 60km far off, to distribute the grocery items. 30 poor families belonging to that local church and few Hindu families received the package.

For other 10 families they were not able to come because of lockdown no transport facility so we went door to door to give them the grocery package and 10kg rice bag.
So totally today we had given to 40 poor families.

Thanks for the special prayer and prayers made it possible for us to go safely and come back in spite of lockdown. Monday planning to go to the next village so please continue to pray.

Today we had sent our assistant pastor Mahibalan to the village called Ukarankottai which is quite far from our place to a local church and only 12 poor families attend that church. As they are below poverty they had asked groceries plus 10kg rice to run their families so today regular groceries and rice were provided for them.

In Ukarankottai the pastor of the church and his mother in the photo was one of the child of the Good News Mission orphanage and he was in the home for nearly 10 years. After these years he went to his work and received the call of God came to this place and started the church.
Our hearts are filled with joy because one of the orphanage home child now a pastor is being supported with groceries for a month.

We thank our Lord and sponsors of GNFM that everyday poor families are able to eat.

Continue to pray for his church also as it is quite hard to do ministry in that area, and thanks to all the sponsors

Hope and trust our gracious Lord has been good for the past days and the situation is getting better there.
Here they have started relaxing a little by opening small shops and the timing has been changed to 6am to 5 pm. But only now the situation is becoming bad in India. The virus is spreading fast, as no social distancing is maintained.

Today we had been to a nearby place and 30 poor pastors doing village ministries had come. They are totally in struggle because of this lockdown as no tithes but they have to pay their house rent, electricity etc. because they usually get offering from their believers in the form of rice or vegetables and very few give them tithes. But last month nothing was possible but Lord had led them in spite of their worst difficulties.
These pastors had asked us instead of grocery items it would be good if they are provided as cash of 2500/- each to overcome their difficulties.
So today they all had come to a local church and they belong to pastors care cell.
We provided them each Rs2500/- they were very happy and blessed and they all conveyed their gratitude of thanks to Good News Friend Ministries.

This weekend and next week we will distribute grocery parcels in three other villages which is quite far from our place.
Once we distribute we would send you all the details.

Yesterday morning 6.30am we travelled to a village called Keelapaatam to a small church run by pastor Joshua and we had asked 42 poor families to come one by one and get the grocery items. These 42 people came from surrounding 3 villages of Keelapaatam, Manapadu and Sivanthipatti.
In each church where we went one parcel was given to that pastor’s family.

Truly it’s a great ministry feeding and helping the needy in the time of need especially this lockdown period.

De Bethel Fellowship Trust Nepal/ IPA Nepal is de eerste christelijke organisatie in dit gebied dat vreselijk is getroffen door de aardbeving.

Distributie van hulpgoederen

Het is een zware tocht geweest om de noodhulpgoederen naar deze plaats te brengen. Twee dagen duurt de reis. Nadat we met vrachtwagens tot aan het eind van de weg waren gereden, hebben we de goederen overgeladen op 4x4wheels. Zelf hebben we een groot deel van de route naast de wagens gelopen totdat we niet meer verder konden. De volgende dag zijn we op pad gegaan met de ezels en de dragers. Een deel van de hulpgoederen moesten we achterlaten in een marktplaatsje. Deze worden momenteel naar Dhading gebracht. Mijn team, bestaande uit pastors, leiders, Bijbelschool studenten en gelovigen uit Dhading hebben mij en mijn vrouw Leegan geholpen met het distribueren van de eerste hulpgoederen, zij zullen ook de resterende hulpgoederen uitdelen.

Hulp aan bewoners van Dhading

In Dhading wonen in totaal 650 families 500 in het dorp, de rest verspreid in de omgeving. We hebben nu 300 tenten, 300 dekens, 300 zakken rijst en ander droog voedsel gebracht. 350 families hebben nog geen noodhulp ontvangen. De dorpelingen hebben ons gevraagd ook hen te helpen met tenten, rijst, zout en dekens. Dat zijn de meest essentiële noodgoederen.

Gevolgen van de aardbeving

De huizen van onze pastors, leiders en een aantal gelovigen zijn volledig verwoest, andere huizen zijn zwaar beschadigd. Pastor Rupa Ghale is zijn vader verloren tijdens de aardbeving. Veel van de gelovigen en dorpsbewoners zijn hun geliefde verloren tijdens de aardbeving. Één van de kerken is volledig verwoest, de andere is zwaar beschadigd. Het schooltje dat gesponsord wordt door de Zweden is zwaar beschadigd, evenals de huizen waarin ze wonen. Waarschijnlijk is het verstandiger om ze voorlopig mee terug te nemen naar Kathmandu, omdat het regenseizoen weldra begint. Het eerstvolgende is hulp voor het restaureren en herbouwen van de huizen. Volgende maand begint het regenseizoen!

Komende activiteiten

De volgende stappen zijn:

• Completeren van de eerste noodhulp in Dhading voor de resterende 350 families.
• Organiseren van een medical camp in Dhading.
• Opzetten van hulpprogramma’s ten behoeve kerkjes en huisgroepen van de afgestudeerde Bijbelschool studenten in Gorkha, Nuwakot, Barebeshi en bepaalde wijken in Kathmandu en Pokhara.
